My Friend Elodie
A little preview of what we're building: soon SnapLedger launches its Freelancer Support Package for Europe. It started with my friend Elodie — juggling luxury tour groups in Paris — who needed two things: to never lose a reimbursable receipt again, and to handle France's new mandatory e-invoicing. That, quietly, is the whole point of SnapLedger.
I'd like to give you a little preview of something we're working on.

Interestingly, it all started with my friend, Elodie.
A friend who never runs out of energy
Elodie is one of those people who always seems to have endless energy.
Originally from China, she has lived in France for many years and speaks French like a native. Whenever I talk to her, she's usually juggling several projects at the same time.
Last week, when we were on the phone, she was busy coordinating a luxury tour group from China visiting Paris. She was arranging hotels, working with local travel agencies, managing transportation, and making sure every guest felt genuinely welcomed.
Then she said something that immediately caught my attention.
"I really need an app like SnapLedger."
Every receipt tells a story
For someone like Elodie, receipts aren't just receipts.
Every meal.
Every taxi.
Every museum ticket.
Every expense incurred while hosting clients needs to be carefully kept, matched with the right customer, and eventually reimbursed.
And sometimes, all it takes is losing one small receipt to turn a reimbursable expense into a personal loss.
But that's only one part of her story.
Elodie also serves as the secretary of an important association in France.
It was actually through her, about five or six years ago, that I had the opportunity to work closely with the association and meet many wonderful French friends. During our conversation, she invited me to visit everyone again, and we've already agreed to meet in Paris this autumn.
"There's one more thing"
Just before ending the call, she suddenly remembered something.
"There's one more thing."
"Starting on September 1st, electronic invoicing will become mandatory. I've been wondering how I'm going to manage it."
Then she asked,
"Can SnapLedger issue government-compliant electronic invoices?"
I smiled.
"Of course."

I smiled again, because I realized something.
We often spend so much time talking about AI, OCR, automation, accounting, tax rules, and compliance.
But our users rarely think that way.
They're not looking for another piece of software.
They're simply trying to make one more complicated day a little easier.
Perhaps that's the real purpose of SnapLedger.
Not to build more features.
Not to make accounting more sophisticated.
But to quietly take care of the administrative work, so people like Elodie can focus on the work—and the people—they truly care about.
