Building a Serious AI Business in Dubai

DAOILE has been approved as a Dubai AI Seal enterprise. The recognition made me reflect on the environment Dubai is creating for AI founders, and the everyday product work we want to keep getting right.

Recently, DAOILE CONSULTING - FZCO, the company behind SnapLedger, was approved as a Dubai AI Seal enterprise, with AI Development as its verified activity.

We have already shared the news in our website announcement. I wanted to record it in this diary too, for the friends who subscribe and have been following our progress.

I am pleased. When you are absorbed in building a product, the days tend to fill with very specific questions: did we read that receipt correctly? Can we match that payment? What should the AI do when a customer asks something it does not know? Recognition like this gives me a moment to look up and consider the environment in which we are building our business.

One thing about building AI in Dubai has stayed with me: the city is willing to build bridges to practical uses of technology.

The Dubai AI Seal was established by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence for companies legally operating in Dubai that provide AI technology and services. Verifying providers, building trust and creating business opportunities are all among the programme's stated objectives. Official Dubai AI Seal overview

For a founder, those ideas carry weight when you put them together.

Once a product exists, customers still need to understand it, be willing to try it, and feel ready to entrust part of their work to it. Caution is entirely reasonable when finances, employee records or customer conversations are involved. Through the product, delivery and ongoing service, we need to answer their questions one at a time. A public framework for verifying businesses also helps that process of building trust.

Dubai's investment in AI continues to reach concrete use cases. The Agentic AI for Government Services Accelerator, announced by Dubai Future Foundation in October this year, connects government entities, real service needs and AI companies. Official announcement

Seeing this makes me feel that there is room here to build practical applications with care, and good reason to look ahead.

These everyday tasks are also what we focus on at SnapLedger.

People running a business need to know where the numbers in their books come from, how long their cash will last, and which parts of the business are making money. Corporate service providers need to stay on top of client projects and accounts, leaving their teams time for review and service. Documents and enquiries scattered across email, WhatsApp and paper deserve to be handled better too.

This work happens every day. Getting one part right saves a customer some repetitive effort. Gradually connecting the parts makes the value of the product clearer.

One thing I appreciate about Dubai's entrepreneurial environment is that investment in the future can be discussed alongside the business needs right in front of us. What do businesses need? How could services improve? How can technology work in practice? These are questions founders can help answer. That makes me want to keep putting in the time to turn ideas into things people can use.

Receiving the Dubai AI Seal is a milestone worth remembering. The next steps are clear too: keep reading documents accurately, reconciling the books, making clear where human judgement is needed, and taking care of customers' questions.

Thank you to Dubai for creating this environment for AI founders, and to everyone who has followed SnapLedger along the way. I am glad we can keep building here.

A thought for today: in a place willing to build bridges to the future, take care of the product in front of you.
