Leon's company got its licence in Meydan Free Zone in January. It's November now, and the books have never been opened. In this lesson, three documents open them.
What you'll learn
- Start a company profile from the trade licence
- Add the Corporate Tax certificate
- Open the books with the first bank statement
Step by step
- A company profile — He adds a company profile next to his own.
- The trade licence, read — Then he uploads the trade licence. Snappy reads the company's name, the licence number and its dates, so nothing has to be typed.
- The Corporate Tax certificate — Next, the Corporate Tax certificate: the tax number, and a financial year that ends on the thirty-first of December. His turnover is still under the VAT line, so he isn't registered for VAT yet. What the company does comes straight from the licence: digital marketing and advertising.
- The books' first day — And because the company is new, its books start on the day it got its licence: 12 January.
- The first bank statement — Before anything else goes in, the books need their starting point: the bank account's first statement. Until then, Upload stays locked. Leon opened the account in February, so it starts at zero. Snappy checks that it starts at zero. The books are open, and Upload is unlocked.
Three documents, and Leon's books are open. Next, the rest of the year, in one go.
