Companies House, done
1:22 · Captions: English, Arabic, French and Chinese.
Every year, Companies House wants two things from a company: its accounts, and a statement that its details are still right. In this lesson, Olivia files both.
What you'll learn
- Connect your company to Companies House, once
- File the annual accounts
- File the confirmation statement
Step by step
- Corporate Governance — Companies House lives in Corporate Governance, with the company's registers and filings.
- Connect Companies House, once — She connects the company once, with the authentication code Companies House posted to its registered office.
- What Companies House holds — Snappy brings in what Companies House holds: the company's details, and when its next filings are due.
- The annual accounts — The annual accounts are due by the end of December. They're made up to 31 March, from the same books as the Corporation Tax return. She confirms, and files them. Companies House has the accounts.
- The confirmation statement — Then the confirmation statement: the company's details haven't changed, so she confirms them and files.
- Both filings kept — Both filings are in the company's history, each with its reference.
Back to the start of this course. Each service is connected once. Each return is built from the books, with nothing typed in again. Every deadline is on the calendar, and every receipt is kept. That's a company's year with HMRC and Companies House, from one set of books.
