Your team: operators and project members

When everything goes through the owner, the business grows only as fast as the owner can answer. The way out isn't sharing your password. It's giving each person their own login, with only the parts of the business they need. In this lesson, Yusuf brings in his team.

What you'll learn

  • Invite your team, each with their own login
  • Choose exactly what each person can open
  • The difference between an operator and a project team member

Step by step

  1. Operators — People who work across the company join it as operators. Each takes a seat, and the Operators card shows who's here and how many seats are left.
  2. Invite the team — First, Zuhair, the project manager. He'll run the jobs, so he gets Snappy PM, and the tools for customers, quotations and invoices. The stock, the finance and the payroll stay closed to him. Then Omar, who runs the workshop and its store. He needs to record the stock that comes in, what the workshop builds, and what's on the shelf. So he gets Record stock — and nothing else. Signing off the stock count, which needs Manage stock, stays with Yusuf. And Lina, who runs Dunewood's finance — the books, the bank and the month-end. Many businesses keep finance in-house, like this. Others hand it to an accounting partner such as Daoile, whose bookkeepers work the same way, with their own logins. Yusuf invites Lina to the showroom company too.
  3. Omar accepts — Omar signs in with his own login. The invitation is waiting at the top of his profile list. He accepts, and the workshop opens — with only the doors Yusuf gave him. If he tries a door that's closed, SnapLedger tells him why — and who can open it.
  4. Manage access — Back with Yusuf. All three have accepted. He can change what anyone can open, pause a seat, or remove a person — and their access ends at once. Not everyone needs a seat, though. Someone who works on a single job — a designer, say — joins just that project, as a project team member, without a seat. You'll meet one in lesson four.

Next: the showroom's customers — answered by Snappy, from Dunewood's own catalogue.
