Connect once

E-invoicing starts with appointing an Accredited Service Provider, and connecting it to your books. Traditionally, that's an integration project: another system, another login, and someone to wire it all up. In this lesson, Dunewood connects once, in minutes.
What you'll learn
- Confirm your business and accept the terms
- Invite SnapLedger to your company at Tax Star
- Watch it connect by itself
One thing before we start: the FTA has not opened e-invoicing registration to every business yet — most smaller businesses are still waiting for their wave. This course is an educational walkthrough of the process, so you know exactly what it looks like before your turn comes. We keep watch, and the moment the FTA opens registration, we tell every SnapLedger customer.
Step by step
- E-invoicing offers itself — Yusuf owns Dunewood Workshop. When he opens the Invoice Center, SnapLedger brings up e-invoicing itself: Dunewood's invoices will go through Tax Star and be reported to the FTA, and Yusuf keeps invoicing from right here.
- Your business, prefilled — First, Dunewood as the tax authority knows it: the legal name, the TRN, the trade licence and the address. They must match Dunewood's registration at the FTA, so Yusuf checks them against his certificates. Then, as the owner, he accepts the e-invoicing terms.
- Three one-time steps — Next, the part that happens outside SnapLedger, once. On the FTA's EmaraTax portal, Yusuf appoints Tax Star as Dunewood's provider, and Tax Star sets up Dunewood's company for him. Invoice approval in Tax Star stays off: Dunewood's approvals happen here.
- Invite SnapLedger — Then, in Tax Star, he invites SnapLedger to Dunewood's company as an Editor, at this address: einvoicing.ae@snap-ledger.ai. It's the same address for every business, and he copies it from here.
- Nothing more to do — Once the invitation is sent in Tax Star, there's nothing more to do. SnapLedger receives the invitation, accepts it and connects Dunewood by itself, usually within three minutes. Yusuf just comes back to SnapLedger to check.
- Connected — When he checks, Dunewood is connected. SnapLedger accepted the invitation, found Dunewood's company at Tax Star, and made sure its TRN is Dunewood's own before connecting anything. Dunewood's Tax Star account, company and archive stay Dunewood's.
- Invoicing as before — Back in the Invoice Center, e-invoicing is on, and nothing else changes. Lina, who keeps Dunewood's books, invoices exactly as before. Connected once, in minutes.
Next: Lina's first e-invoice, checked before it goes, then filed.
