Freelancing on SnapLedger · UAE · Lesson 2 of 6
Invoicing your clients
1:21 · Captions: English, Arabic, French and Chinese.
Most freelancers make invoices in a word processor: numbered by hand, VAT worked out on a calculator, and a copy lost somewhere in a folder. In this lesson, Nadia bills a client from SnapLedger instead.
What you'll learn
- Upload your VAT certificate
- Bill a client from the Invoice and PO Center
- Issue a tax invoice in one step
Step by step
- Your VAT certificate — First, her VAT certificate. From it, SnapLedger knows she charges VAT, from which day, and when her returns fall due.
- A new invoice — Her invoices live in the Invoice & PO Center. She starts a new one.
- Your client — She writes it in English for this client, a media company in Dubai, and adds its tax registration number, so the invoice is a proper tax invoice.
- The work and the VAT — Then the work she did and her fee. SnapLedger works out the VAT and the total for her.
- Issued — She issues it. The invoice carries her name and tax number, her client's, the VAT and the total, numbered and dated for her, and filed in her vault.
- Your client, saved — One tap saves the client to her customer book, ready for the next invoice.
No templates, no calculator, no numbering by hand: her invoice goes out right the first time. Next, her receipts and her bank statement.
