Your VAT return figures
0:55 · Captions: English, Arabic, French and Chinese.
Every quarter, the VAT return used to mean a weekend of adding up invoices and receipts. In this lesson, Nadia's return is built from the books she already has.
What you'll learn
- Find your unfiled VAT period
- Build the VAT 201 from your books
- Take the FTA form to EmaraTax
Step by step
- Your unfiled period — Her to-do list already knows her first VAT period has ended and isn't filed yet. One tap takes her to the VAT tool.
- File the quarter — The quarter is July to September. She files it.
- The VAT 201 boxes — The return comes from her books: her sales and the VAT on them, her purchases and the VAT she can reclaim, and what she owes for the quarter.
- On to EmaraTax — She downloads the form in the FTA's own format and uploads it on EmaraTax herself, with the breakdown kept for her records.
No weekend of adding up: the figures were in her books all along. Next, how new clients find her.
