Running your business on SnapLedger · Tailor Shop · Lesson 6 of 7
The tailors' month
1:06 · Captions: English, Arabic, French and Chinese.
In a tailor shop, pay day means a salary plus the pieces each tailor stitched, counted from a tally, and a salary file for the bank, rebuilt by hand. In this lesson, Sanjay pays the work room's month in one go.
What you'll learn
- Run the work room's payroll for the month
- Add each tailor's piece work
- Get the payslips and the WPS file in one run
Step by step
- Last month's payroll — Payroll is Sanjay's. His three tailors are already here, each with the salary in their contract. They never need a login to be paid.
- The piece work — The pieces are counted in the work room, as always; Zuhair keeps the tally. Sanjay adds each tailor's piece-work pay for the month beside the salary, and the net pay adds it up.
- One run — One press: a payslip for every tailor, and the salary file the bank needs for WPS, built from the same numbers.
- A payslip — Each payslip shows the salary and the piece work separately, so every tailor can see what they were paid for.
Next, the last lesson: the month closed, and what Mr Mehta's order made.
