Cash accounts (CashPot)
1:38 · Captions: English, Arabic, French and Chinese.
Client money shouldn't mix with yours. Service firms handle cash — fees paid at the counter, clients who pay in notes — and CashPot keeps each pile of it as its own pot, so the client's cash stays apart and the books match what's in the drawer.
What you'll learn
- Create a cash pot
- Record cash a client pays
- Settle receipts paid from the pot
Step by step
- A pot for client cash — Under Finance Tools, Amira opens CashPot and adds a new pot: Client cash, in dirhams.
- Cash received — Qamar Bay pays the government-fee advance in cash. Amira records it with Add Cash Payment: the customer, the advance invoice, into the Client cash pot — and the receipt goes to Qamar Bay by email.
- Settle the receipts — Omar paid the visa fees from that cash. Settle receipts from pot connects the two: his receipt is paid from the client's money in the pot.
- What's left, and where — The pot shows its balance and every movement. What's left is still Qamar Bay's money, held for them — and the project's Money tab shows the same: advanced, spent on their behalf, and held.
Next: showing a client where their account stands — the statement of account.
