Running a corporate service provider on SnapLedger · Lesson 5 of 10

The Runner: receipts from the field

1:38 · Captions: English, Arabic, French and Chinese.

A PRO spends the day at government offices, paying fees on the client's behalf — and the receipts used to arrive days later, on WhatsApp, if at all. In this lesson, Omar, Harbour Gate's PRO, becomes the project's Runner, and his receipts reach the books from the counter.

What you'll learn

  • Create a role with one button
  • Add your PRO to the project as its Runner
  • Approve what they upload

Step by step

  1. A role with one button — On the project's Team tab, Amira chooses Add role. She calls the seat PRO runner, and under What may this seat do, ticks one thing: Add expense.
  2. Add Omar — Then Add team member: Omar, in the PRO runner role.
  3. What Omar sees — Omar accepts with his own login. This is what he sees: the Board, the folders and the Timeline — and one button. Nothing else in Harbour Gate's books.
  4. Upload a receipt — At the immigration office, Omar pays the visa fees, presses Add expense, and uploads the receipt. SnapLedger reads it.
  5. Approve the posting — Back with Amira: SnapLedger has read the receipt and proposes how to post it — paid on the client's behalf, recoverable. She approves. The fees are Qamar Bay's to repay, not a cost of Harbour Gate's.

Next: when clients pay in cash — CashPot.
